What Kellie Has Done For Our Community

It takes a village to raise a child… but it can be hard to find that village! With no nearby family support of her own, and two kids under two, Kellie set out to find her ‘village’. She soon discovered she could use her skills and time to help other families find their village, take away some of the hassle of finding things to do as a family and make this parenting gig more fun.

For the last seven years, Kellie has volunteered up to 60 hours a week of her time to support families by combining with what brings her joy – connecting people, building communities, exploring, gardening, being out in nature and leaving places better than she found them.

Kellie has:

Made it easier for tens of thousands of families to create fond memories via ParraParents
Provided an online safe space for thousands of mums via Parramatta District Mums Group
Helped hundreds of families feel comfortable exploring local bush reserves
Encouraged a love of reading by supporting the expansion of street libraries
Improved community facilities through advocacy to Council
Organised the removal over 2 tonnes of rubbish from local waterways
Shown hundreds of families how to grow food
Spread the word on the importance of caring for Parramatta River
Supported and connected hundreds of families by organising playgroups

Kellie loves contributing to her local community and is deeply invested in seeing it be a place we love to raise our kids and that we’re proud to call home.
