About Kellie Darley

Australia Day ParraParents

Kellie is co-founder of ParraParents, the very popular and helpful guide for families living, working or playing in the greater Parramatta region. On top of running ParraParents, Kellie leads bushwalks, organises litter clean ups, grows food in community veggie gardens, shares her love of reading by supporting street libraries and supports mums by providing a safe online community.

In recognition of her valuable contribution to the Parramatta community, Kellie was awarded the 2019 City of Parramatta Volunteer of the Year Award (Local Australia Day Awards) and the 2020 Parramatta Woman of the Year (NSW Women of the Year Awards).

Kellie is a proud mum to two boys, aged 8 and 6yrs, and along with her husband Paul, they’ve lived in the Dundas Ward since 2014. Kellie grew up in Sydney and has lived in many different parts of the city (including Coogee, Liverpool, Penrith, Drummoyne and Carlingford). She has also travelled around the world and lived in Kenya for a year.

Prior to becoming a parent, and taking a ‘career break’, Kellie was a successful community health executive, with 20 years experience managing staff and leading new initiatives. She loves learning and has three university degrees to show for it!

Her life motto for as long as she can remember has been…

Be the change you wish to see in the world!

~ Gandhi

I acknowledge, and pay my respects to, the traditional custodians of the land now known as City of Parramatta, clans from the Darug nation. Their cultures and customs have nurtured and continue to nurture this land, that was and always will be Aboriginal land.
